Matt Walker joined the Smashing Pumpkins as touring drummer for the remainder of the Mellon Collie World Tour after Jimmy Chamberlin was kicked out for drug abuse. Matt played live with the band from August 1996 until October 1997, and played on many tracks on 1998's Adore ("To Sheila", "Ava Adore", "Daphne Descends", "Tear", "Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete", "Annie Dog", and "Behold! The Night Mare"), as well as the Batman and Robin soundtrack song "The End is the Beginning is the End". Matt Walker was not hired as a full-time drummer, however, and left the band to start a band called "the Cupcakes". He also works with various artists under the name "of1000faces".
In 2005, Matt was the drummer for Billy Corgan's solo album and tour, and has been the drummer for Morrissey since 2006. He also worked on the 2014 Adore re-issue.
