A tobacco sunburst LP Special went up under the Pumpkins' official eBay account on August 31, 2011, ending on September 7th at $2600. The auction listing included the following note:

1978 Gibson Les Paul Special Sunburst Guitar. Used by Billy Corgan on The Smashing Pumpkins 2000 Machina Tour and 2001-2003 Zwan Tour. Serial number is 71018078. There are several minor nicks and scratches on the guitar due to the age and touring history. A Gibson hardshell case is included. A certificate of authenticity personally signed by Billy Corgan will be included.

A sticker on the back of the headstock labeled "Eb" indicates the guitar was used for songs downtuned to E♭, such as those from Mellon Collie.
